A TOUR OF THE DAYLIGHTING EFFORT AT THE FOLSOM CORRIDOR

Don't miss out on an exciting outdoor event happening on May 11th as we explore the recently completed Folsom Trail. ULI Utah will host a 0.7 mile easy walk with a discussion on the area's history, the benefits of daylighting and its potential to boost development in an urban corridor.

Join us and Seven Canyon's Trust Executive Director Brian Tonetti as we explore how his organization's years of innovative work to bring water out of the ground is helping to transform the city and create more vibrant, walkable and sustainable communities. You'll network with fellow ULI Utah members, and gain valuable insights into the future role of water as an amenity - an important topic in today's Utah urban planning and design, we'll delve into the benefits of bringing water back to SLC's urban areas and how it can improve both the environment and the community. We'll then gather for drinks & appetizers at Red Iguana II to celebrate the hopeful return of Summer!

Register now and be part of this informative and engaging event filled with opportunity! Spots are limited!

Founder and Executive Director, Seven Canyons Trust

Brian Tonetti is the founder and Executive Director of the Seven Canyons Trust, a nonprofit working to uncover and restore the buried and impaired creeks of the Salt Lake Valley. As a student at the University of Utah, he created the award-winning 100 Years of Daylighting. This visioning document led to the creation of the Seven Canyons Trust in 2014. In his role, he led implementation of the Three Creeks Confluence project--an award-winning effort to daylight Red Butte, Emigration, and Parley’s creeks where they flow into the Jordan River in Salt Lake City, UT. He graduated from the University of Utah with degrees in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and Urban Planning. His passion for waterways developed out of a love for skiing (a frozen watersport).
