ULI Utah Walkable Wednesday Granary District
|Join us on a walking tour to ask questions, discuss, and learn about our local development. Walkable Wednesday is a free event for ULI members and $10 for non-members. The walking tour will include an overview of the following:
The tour begins at the future site of TF Brewing, located just within the official Granary District boundaries. The nearly-completed commercial space that will house SLC’s newest brewery looks like a far cry from its former life as neighboring auto garages. We will hear about how this adaptive reuse development, officially called the “A-3 Project,” came to be, and how it was funded in-part by the Granary District Adaptive Reuse Loan Program from the Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City (RDA). Next, the tour will pass through the Salt Lake City-owned Fleet Block at the heart of the Granary District. Led by Salt Lake City’s Division of Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND), the potential for redevelopment of this expansive City block is gaining traction. Throughout the Granary District, the RDA’s mural grant program is also underway, including planned murals on the block that is home to the re-established Fisher Brewery, a neighborhood essential. We will get to speak to one of the local artists who have contributed to the Granary District mural gallery. The tour will end there with an overview of Fischer Brewery, a great place to linger and network.
Meet on the north west corner of 300 W and American Ave.
The group will meet at 4:00 pm. Please be on time since it might be difficult to catch up after the group departs on the walking tour. For more information, please contact Megan Townend, 801-404-8925
